About Us

Drake's Nest Studio, LLC was officially founded in early 2022; however, it was born generations ago. Drake's Nest is owned and operated by Richard M. Drake, who grew up in the garage catching boards and backing up his father, Donald, and grandfather, Richard E., in every household maintenance project imaginable - from putting in the new hot water heater back in the crawl space to lathe work making detailed custom pens for his grandfather's union friends. Richard's family passed along a love for working with his hands and for Craftsman tools.

Professionally, Richard has a background in restaurant proprietorship as well as property maintenance and management. He also spent 8 years in the hardest profession of all - domestic engineer to three of the most incredible and demanding humans on the planet. He was also the President of Palmetto Little League and was responsible for their re-branding, including the logo and web re-design and building of other marketing materials from flags to outfield banners for local business partners.

Moving forward, Drake's Nest is dedicated to providing handyperson services to any and all in need of a hand in the greater Manatee County community. Additionally, we offer custom woodworking and design services, including signs, logo design, personalized arcade units and other custom marketing or personal use items.
